First Friday Art Walk – August 2022

Color is so essential to Tim; always drawn to the colors of the landscape, or sky and reflected shadows. By grinding pebbles, shells, etc. and blending them into his paint, Tim produces an actual pigment for each landscape or portrait he paints, creating a real, tangible link to the environment that enchanted him to it in the first place.

Born and raised in Topeka, Tim has always been involved in the arts one way or another. Between his different careers in various states such as a designer at Hallmark, Art Director on several notable films, the Executive Design Director for the Franklin Mint, designing bears for the Boyds Collection, being in charge of MLB, NFL, NBA, Lord of the Ring, Fantasy Dragon and Sci-Fi licenses at Danbury Mint and writing a novel and children’s books. Tim choose to return back to Kansas for the natural beauty, a boundless supply of landscapes and sunsets, to focus on his painting.

As an artist, he transports color, allowing the viewer to escape from the mundane, helping them look at the usual and see the unusual. Tim is not just painting a place, he is painting “the” place by bringing the actual environment into the painting, and hopefully into a collectors’ home.
