First Friday Art Walk – June 2023

A resident of Kansas City, Karen White is passionate about creating artwork that expresses life in what she sees in people, wildlife and nature. Depicting emotion and trying to capture a unique moment in time with monochrome and vibrant colors using acrylic, pastel, color pencil, chalk graphite, oil pastel and pyrography.

Pencil drawings were the beginning of Karen’s artistic start and sharing her gift with people. With graphite pencil, she enjoys the shadows of dark and light dancing around shapes and figures while working with chalk and the different medium texture, creating a negative-positive look. Watercolor is a colorful change of subtle to vibrant colors.
