First Friday Art Walk – December 2018
Art has been part of Nancy’s life from early childhood through her adult life by drawing what she saw, fascinated with molding metal into shapes, found objects and intrigued with the texture and color of pastel, watercolor, oil and fabric. Nancy thinks of herself as an eclectic artist, trying out different mediums to express what she sees, feels and imagines.
She received her B.A. in Art Education, but worked in the mental health field as a therapist where her observational skills honed through art helped Nancy understand and help individuals who were struggling with life challenges. After retiring, she returned full-time to her first love, art.
Her exhibit reflects her love of landscapes and waterscapes from Kansas to other sites throughout United States, Australia and Europe. Nancy visualizes being “there” wherever that may be to recreate the atmosphere, sounds and color. Life is an adventure and it is those adventures that live in her mind and on canvas. Nancy hopes to transport her viewers to the site and have their own experience of “being there”.
