Marie Plinsky got a late start in the art world, developing her artistic talents from more than 30 years’ as a hairdresser, only the canvas changed. Starting with watercolor, she has enjoyed using other medias; charcoal, oil, acrylic and decorating gourds. Her newest artwork of mixed media uses acrylics, paper and fabric creating interesting textures.

Many of the pieces on display were created during the school’s recent Art Lock In event, where students got to meet a professional artist and created a piece of artwork using the guest artist’s techniques.
