Discover Art Downtown and view the beautiful watercolor and silk paintings by Geri Cummings. Painting is Geri’s escape, her mini vacation, so many paintings are from things that bring a sense of calm when she looks at them. A tranquil place to go in the middle of our chaotic lives. Participate in the fun downtown Scavenger Hunt, while continuing the 4th of July celebration. Snacks, soda, beer and wine provided.

Discover Art Downtown and view the captured beauty by photographer, Derek Voorhis. Photography is an area of art that Derek feels one will always learn and grow. He takes everyday objects and people and reimagines them in such a way to provide the viewer with wonder and amazement that would normally not exist. For a “gouda” time, “ricotta” try our delicious, cheesy themed food that will “brie” out of this world for the Cheesy Chalk Walk. Snacks, soda, beer and wine provided.

Edward Balda, an accomplished artist known for his creativity, distinctive style and thought-provoking subject matter, returns with his painting exhibit “Variations V”. Influenced by J.M.W Turner, the great British painter of the late 1700’s, Edward’s work is reminiscent of Turner’s landscapes of fog and haze. He works in thin layers, building up a luminous depth of color with his subject matter often reflecting his Ecuadorian heritage and points of travel. Downtown welcomes Pets on the Avenue while you enjoy our delicious pet themed treats.

Finding inspiration from photographs that begin to form a story, which Patrick hopes will invoke a reaction in the viewer. See how Dorethy captures her love for traveling and nature in her art and sharing her experiences of beauty seen around the world. Jump into spring and get into the Irish Spirit by wearing green to receive a St. Patty’s Day prize! We will be serving Irish themed/greenish snacks, soda, beer and wine.

Art instructors, Avery Ayers-Berry, Beth Hanna, Steve Loy, Ryan Paget, and Wendy Wheeler, displaying a variety of mediums from the visual art students; including drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture and jewelry. Wear blue to spread awareness for Autism. Purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win a basket valued at $325, while raising money for Topeka Area Autism Network. Snacks and drinks provided.

Discover Art Downtown and view the mixed media paintings by Marie Plinsky. Displaying her newest art work of mixed media uses acrylics, paper and fabric creating interesting textures. Calling all chocolate lovers as downtown explodes with chocolate delights. Our returning favorites are the infamous chocolate waterfall and “Cocomotion” cocoa along with other tasty chocolate inspired treats. Then top it off with a selection of chocolate inspired beers and wines.

Discover Art Downtown and enter for a chance to win two free tickets to Brew at the Zoo on September 24th and view the unique Oxidized Art by Charles Ray. Stepping outside the common practices used in making art, Charles put his fondness for printmaking and rusted sculptures together. The results are fantastic! Using oxidation, he produces some very contemplative images that contrast organic with geometric. Snacks, soda, beer and wine provided.
